Kevin and I attended the "Becoming Soul Mates" marriage conference with Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott in Dallas this weekend. It was at a college friend's church, so we drove down on Friday night to visit Julie and her family. We met my folks in Buffalo on the way and let them take Caroline for the weekend.
Everyone had a blast!! It's quite possible that the grandparents had more fun than we did ; )
I recommend that all new parents do some kind of marriage workshop within the first couple years of having their first child. We didn't have any huge "ah ha" moments but it was so good to just get away..JPG)
After the conference, we drove into Dallas and stayed Saturday night at a hotel near the Galleria. We took the shuttle to the Galleria, had a really nice dinner downstairs at the hotel, drinks at the bar, and slept in until 8:30!!.JPG)
The cutest part was at dinner when Kevin pulled out two sheets of paper and a hotel pen so we could do one of the exercises from the conference.
