My Birthday by Caroline (age 1)

What a fun day, today was... I turned ONE!!

It started, when mommy and daddy came into my room and woke me up singing "Happy Birthday." My daddy worked from home this morning, so he could be here when I woke up. He was working while I had my breakfast.

After breakfast, I was going to Skype my Grandad, but his software wouldn't work. I was disappointed, but I sent him a video (see previous post) to cheer us up. Then, mommy and I played.

During my morning nap, mommy decorated my birthday cake for this weekend. She also made three cupcakes for us to have with our dinner.

We met daddy for lunch. Then mommy and I headed to Portrait Innovations for my picture appointment (see previous post).

I didn't sit still like I did for my last appointment, but it was fun watching the photographer make silly faces at me. I also liked playing with the duplo block table. I even climbed in the chairs that were around the table, but got in trouble when I stood up in them.

I fell asleep on the way home. Mommy says that she was glad because she was plumb worn out from going non-stop all day.

After dinner, I got a cupcake with one candle. Even though daddy has been trying to teach me to blow out the candle, I let him blow it out for me.

I ate all of the icing off of my cupcake first. Hey, I know where the good part is!!

Mommy wouldn't let me finish all of the cupcake because she was worried that I would get a tummy ache and spit up all over the house. I pouted when they took my cupcake away, but I got to open some of my presents instead. I got a Praise Baby DVD and a book.

I got to watch the DVD right away and I really liked it... or maybe all that sugar was making me hyper. I danced and twisted to the music and babbled along. I really liked the puppy part because I called it "Bu"ddy.

What a day!! Off to bed.
