I noticed a funny sign at Hobby Lobby on Monday...
"NO SHOES with WHEELS"
No, I didn't take a picture of the door. I actually Googled it and found it on someone else's blog who found it as silly as I did. http://allinaday-kris.blogspot.com/2007/07/not-so-free-wheelin.html
She makes some interesting points such as the irony that the sign is right above the wheelchair sign, that there are certainly an infinate number of other things that could be banned if accidents and breakables are their concern - including shopping carts, and speculation that the sign is the reply to some frivalous lawsuit.
Actually, while I find the need for the sign laughable, it also makes me breathe a high sigh of relief because every time I see a kid gliding across the floor wearing "Heelys," my heart skips a beat out of pure panic for their safety.
NOTE: To all of Caroline's friends and family - if you buy her "Heelys" they are going right back to where they came from : )
It will be interesting to see if these signs start popping up in other retail venues. And I see a T-shirt coming. Man, I should start making those and I could probably send Caroline to college.

thanks for keeping me up-to-date on the latest and greatest. Never heard of heelys till now! Is that what Kevin wants for Christmas? :)
Aw! Shucks...I guess I'll return the heelys I got Caroline for her first birthday;) She was going to make all the other toddlers in playgroup jealous by being the first baby with a set of wheels!
Sorry Caroline, but parents can be so strict!
I hate those things - but not b/c I am scared of the kids' saftey - it's b/c they are usually running into ppl with them and they are annoying!
Those things are annoying... especially when they are at the very beginning of their "glide" and I don't realize they're wearing them, and for half a second it looks like they're falling down. But then they roll on. lol
You can smile like these kids when you are wearing Nike shoes...Lets smile!!!!!Cute pics...I love this....
