Here's some updates...
Charlotte had a peditrician visit today to check her billiruben levels. She was 8.5 which they say is in the normal range, so we don't need to do anything extra. We'll check it again at her two week appt. She did so well getting her heel stuck... slept right through it. Also, she is a whole inch longer than we thought. At birth they only measured 19 3/4 inches, but the nurse at Dr. Nguyen's office did a better job at stretching her out and she is actually 20 3/4 inches. Long like her mommy and with long legs according to all the professionals. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz.
We've had some nursing issues... insert lots of whining on my part about the hosptial nursery forcing us to give her bottles b/c of blood sugar concerns. I thought I'd just relax and go with the flow at the hosptial and fix things once we got home. In hindsight, I wish I'd been more paranoid about the bottle. Oh well, I guess part of having a new baby is bawling about breastfeeding. But we have a nipple shield now and as long as she only feels plastic in her mouth, she's happy to latch.
Caroline is still being a great big sister. I try to do one-on-one time with her each day and haven't noticed a twinge of jealousy... yet.
Here's a comparison shot for all of you that put up with all my blogging details.
Charlotte Lillian (day 3)
Caroline RuthAnn (day 6)
