What a full week!! My college friend, Julie, and her daughter, Alyssa, came to town. They got in Tuesday for dinner and left on Friday morning. Caroline is still talking about Alyssa. They made an instant bond! Caroline now asks for "Alyssa song" when I put her to bed... which is an alteration that I'm still tweaking of the Elmo song. 
On Wednesday, we took a road trip to Lake Jackson to see another college friend, Jennifer, and her two daughters, Grace and Glory. We were supposed to do all this the week after Ike, but had to reschedule. It was a fun houseful of girls.
This is all of us together in April 2007 when Julie was pregnant with Alyssa. Now, I'm the pregnant one in the picture. Christie, we missed you (hope Vegas was fun)!
On Thursday, we went to the zoo. It seems that one trip to the zoo is never enough for me - we always seem to go several times in a row. Alyssa liked the aquarium tunnel...

Julie and I were able to watch a girly video each night after the girls were tucked in. We had so much fun catching up and sharing mommy tips.

looks like you had a lot of fun!!! so sorry to miss you guys! caleb had a little bit of a relapse, so I'm glad we did not risk it! Hope we get to get together soon! - C
oh, and of course we had such a great time in Vegas! i realize how important it is for us to get away!
