Grocery Game update

Okay, I've been shopping using the Grocery Game for a 30 days now.

I've saved $61.42 in coupons.
Plus $10.74 from doubling/tripling.
Plus $159.37 from my Kroger Plus card.
That's a grand total of $231.53.
Which means that I got $573.28 of groceries for only $341.75... a savings of 40%.

I don't know if my total really reflects an "improved" grocery budget, since I'm in the "stocking-up" phase of the system. Meaning, I've bought things that were a really good deal... ie, Cascade for $1... that I really didn't need this month. The other thing is that I've been getting a few things at Wal-mart (milk, puffs, diapers) that are cheaper than at Kroger. So my Wal-mart and Kroger bill combined was the highest of the past six months (I pulled my old credit card statements and figured it up). But, when is a Wal-mart receipt ever just groceries.

I probably sound like such a nerd.

All in all, without the GG, I never would have clipped over $60 in coupons. It's more motivation for me than anything.

PS. For all you mom's... you can get a 2 oz bottle of Purell hand sanitizer for FREE with the $1.50 coupon from this weeks Sunday paper (and there was one a couple weeks ago too, so I got two) b/c the 2 oz bottle only costs $1.49.

Wow! I'm impressed. I guess the extra work of clipping and planning ahead is really paying off! Great work!
