Caroline had her first two trips to the movie theater this week.
First, she went to see Charlotte's Web with her friends, Charlotte and Kimberly. It was part of a summer movie program at Studio Movie Grill and my friend, Ysabel, invited her to go.
Then, Kevin and I took her to see Toy Story 3 while we got a sitter for Charlotte. The main thing that will stand out in my mind about our first movie with her is that they were playing the wrong preview reel. I mean WRONG preview reel! The first preview that came on was for Twilight with vampires and wolves jumping on people. I was in such shock! I tried getting Caroline to look at me instead of the screen and then I just covered her eyes. I was so furious that I went and got a manager, who explained that it was a mistake. They eventually turned off the wrong previews, by which point, Caroline and I were waiting outside the doors. I was so relieved to see the Disney castle show up on the screen when the right previews started.
It was such a lesson about how much I, as a parent, need to be on my toes at all times. Even when I think I'm taking her into something that should be appropriate.
Caroline did end up enjoying the movie. There were a few parts that were scary. She also ate more than half of a large tub of popcorn.
