Skates are better than plates

Sounds like a line from Dr. Seuss, right?

Well, a couple weeks ago, Caroline announced out of nowhere that she wanted a pair of skates. We are kind of in that stage, where she wants almost anything she sees. When I asked her why she wanted them, she said it was so she didn't have to skate on plates anymore... in the past, we've slid and skated around the carpet on her metal play kitchen plates.

It was right before her birthday and everyone had already decided on her gifts, so I've been keeping my eye out for a second hand pair, and tonight, we hit the jackpot. $2.99 at Goodwill!!





It warmed our hearts, too, that Caroline decided all on her own that Charlotte should have a turn. I hadn't really planned on putting the skates on Charlotte, especially because it turns out her shoed feet are still on the small side, but skate she did.
