I scream, you scream

Caroline was kind of bummed (that's very much an understatement) when I had a craft night to go to on Friday, so I promised her a special mommy date on Saturday afternoon.

We went for ice cream at Chic-Fil-A.

She's had a few ice cream cones before, but this was the first one that she finished completely. It was so funny to sit and watch her lick and eat the whole thing. We had fun telling made up stories. That's our new thing... taking turns finishing a story. Somehow, Caroline always adds a Christmas character like Santa, Frosty, or reindeer. Micky, Henry the Octopus, and Humpty Dumpty also tend to be in the story and they are usually going to the museum.

Then, Caroline played in the play area. That's something else new... she's brave enough to play in the play area even when other kids are there. I know this isn't a big deal to some parents, but Caroline's been so timid about stuff like that in the past that it makes me so proud to see her become more confident. She seems to make a new friend anytime there is another girl at a play area or park. I guess she's just at that age when she's getting more social.

Oh, meet Caroline's tiger. He was in a bag of stuff we got from Grandma's classroom (they just moved into a new school and were cleaning out). He's special enough to sleep with... and tiny enough to get lost in bed.
