Letter to Caroline

Dear Caroline,

Mommy misses you a lot.

I've been busy getting stuff done and playing with Charlotte. We took the balls out of the playzone so Charlotte could start playing in it (hopefully you won't miss them when you get back... although, your friends might). Charlotte likes pushing the buttons with her feet to play with the music.

Mommy caught up on sewing crafts on Monday, making a hair bow for Charlotte's picture, mending the garden tub curtains that Holly chewed up a year ago, doing a ribbon shirt to match Sara's curly bow from our bow party, and making a baby shower present.

Tuesday, we did Charlotte's picture and then mommy started her baby book. Ironic that I was catching up on scrapbooking and being morning sick during your trip to Grandma's last year.

Today, we had Charlotte's check-up. Dr Nguyen was a little concerned that we are so far behind on Charlotte's shots, but without too much discussion, mommy got her way and we only got two vaccines. Charlotte was brave and didn't even cry. She is 13 lbs 3/4 oz (40th %) and 25.5 inches (80th % - and an entire inch longer than you were).
Mommy has been slacking on household chores, so she has lots of catch up to do before small group tomorrow. Daddy has let us eat out 3 out of the 4 nights you've been gone. Not because you are hard to take with us, but more as a treat for mommy.
It sure is quiet around here and I miss our tea parties, but mommy is enjoying running extra errands, not having to take people potty, and having one less person to buckle into the car. I think I'm realizing that a toddler is more work than a baby - who would have thought.

This is funny b/c I have a friend (with little kids) who would keep telling me "man, I don't miss those days" when I would talk about waking up for a night feeding or something. And I would always think to myself - I would much rather do that then chase around a toddler all day!

I am sure each has their adv. and disadv., though.
