Potty chart

So, this has to be the weirdest post... but I'm impressed by the evolution of Caroline's potty charts. We started the sticker potty chart a month after Charlotte was born when I finally decided to put my foot down, go hard-core to panties, stop giving candy/"special treats" and get this potty training thing completed. I should note that she doesn't get rewards for the chart... for Caroline, putting stickers on the chart IS the reward. It's so nice when things are so simple.

The first chart was pretty unimpressive (the princess stickers were a later addition). I'd pick out a sticker from the sheet and give it to Caroline to add to her chart. I was pretty impressed that she picked up on the left to right, top to bottom pattern... a great pre-reading skill.

Then, in the second chart, she started requesting certain stickers until I ran out... so they were all grouped together. Yellow lady bugs (top row), green lady bugs (second row), red lady bugs (third row), red apples with A's (fourth row)... can you tell these are teacher grandma's leftovers?
The third chart is when I got bored and Caroline started getting her own stickers from the sheet. She kept going and going, even after she ran out of chart. If you look really closely, you can see she matched up stickers on the right hand side.

I made a fourth chart but she scribbled all over it before I had a chance to hang it up. This was during her rainbow obsession (I'm sure it's a natural kid thing to like, but it is probably hereditary too because I was always obsessed with rainbow color order) and you can see she matched the marker to the gridlines I'd made.

And for her fifth chart, she jumped around filling it in based on the color of the sticker. It took a few days for me to figure out what she was doing because she wasn't going left to right, top to bottom, but skipping around. So for the most part, the stickers match the grid.
