Halloween

Caroline had a good Halloween except for her runny nose. She got to dress up as "Dorthy" a total of four times. It's so nice to get your time/money's worth from a costume.

Saturday was our neighborhood party.

Monday, we dressed up for story time at the library. There was another "Dorthy" there too.

Tuesday, we went to a local Assisted Living center with our MOPS group. Another "Dorthy" was there too... who knew it was so popular. Caroline was really shy at first but by the end she was walking around and loved looking at the pumpkins on their lobby fireplace. The people had baskets of candy and Caroline got really good at putting them into her bag. One lady was really worried that I was going to let Caroline eat the hard candies... "no, they are for Daddy," I said.

Then, on Wednesday, we went to a pot luck lunch at Kevin's office. Everyone thought Caroline was so cute. She got to do a little more trick-or-treating around the office. The favorite treat was a red tootsie pop that she kept taking in and out of her pail. Later, at dinner, I claimed the red tootsie pop : ) I guess, technically, she was also dressed up that afternoon when Granny popped in on her way to Friendswood, and then again that night when we sat outside passing out candy to our trick-or-treaters. Kevin had a blast giving the kids a hard time and telling him that he wanted a "trick." Kevin is always giving the kids a hard time. (This summer he asked the kids selling Kool-aide if they were unionized... or something like that.) Gladly, all our neighborhood kids stand up for themselves pretty well. It probably would have made me cry at that age.

Correction... Kevin asked the Kool-aide kids if they took Canadian money. He also said that the kid dressed as Mickey Mouse was dressed up as Abe Lincoln ????

lol! your comments about kevin cracked me up!

caroline is adorable and dorothy was such a cute idea! i wouldn't have guessed it would be that popular, either. my friend's sister, her husband and 2 boys were all going to dress up as oz characters, but the boys chose spiderman instead and they ditched the idea. anyway, caroline sure is growing and is precious!
