So, I started playing the Grocery Game today.
My BF is doing it and come to find out, so are several of my friends from college. Anyway, I saved $14.50 with coupons, plus another $1.60 from doubling/trippling. And with my Kroger plus card savings, I saved a grand total of $41.91... 31% of my bill.
I already made a spreadsheet to keep track... Engineer ; )
I wish I'd been stockpiling all my old grocery receipts so I could really compare.
I'm bummed that the store was out of the pain reliever that I could have gotten for FREE with my coupon and the store sale combined. Oh well.
If you are interested in knowing more, check out http://www.grocerygame.com/ and don't forget to tell 'em who sent ya : )

I absolutely LOVED doing the grocery game!! One time at Kroger, my total bill was like $225 but with the grocery game I only spent about $120!!! It was sooooo amazing!
It's not as effective here because we only have HEB and Wal-mart. Since you don't get to double or triple any coupons at HEB, you really only save as much as if you just shop at Wal-mart. It's a bummer. I really enjoyed the game. I found the best time to go it seems is Sunday before church at least to get the free stuff; if you wait until that afternoon most of the FREE stuff is already gone!!
I am so glad you are doing it! Do you still get a few weeks free for having 3 people sign up with you as their referral?

I know a group that sends an envelope of coupons around - you take what you want and add ones that you won't use and send it on. Are you interested in it, or do you already do something like this?
